The Life Story of Wanda Vanhook

On January 15, 1941, in Hunters Branch, KY, God handed Wanda Sue Salisbury to the care of Wayne and Charlotte Salisbury. God blessed Sue with two children. On May 29, 2026, her children handed Sue back to Him after 85 years of being a faithful servant. Sue was one of 17 children, being number five in the lineup, and the oldest of 10 girls. Growing up in a large family helped shape her into the creative and loving woman she became. During the 1960's and 1970's Sue served as a pastor’s wife, devoting her heart and time in many capacities. In 1982 she met the love of her life, T-bone, during a single’s event at First Southern Baptist Church. They were able to enjoy 42 years together, living life to the fullest. Sue was a devoted lover of Jesus, coffee, chickens, and quilting. Sue never met a stranger, and boldly shared her faith with everyone she encountered asking “Do you know Jesus.” She was a true example of what it means to be Jesus’ hands and feet here on earth. No doubt when her Savior welcomed her home she heard the words “well done my good and faithful one.” Sue is now walking the streets of gold, reunited with her parents, 4 siblings, son-in-law Butch, daughter-in-law Jeniece, and stepdaughter Tammy. Continuing to celebrate Sue are her husband T-Bone, children Tim Mantle and Gail Shannon, daughter-in-law Lisa Mantle, stepchildren Bill and Robin Vanhook, and Cherie’ Fifield, 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 12 siblings and many many nieces and nephews. Thank you God for blessing our lives with such a beautiful person! Sue’s passion was Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children: The Vine Campus.

Services will be Friday, June 5, 2026 at 11:00am  at Franklin Road Baptist Church, 7327 N. Franklin Road Norman, OK. 73026
