Obituary

Mrs. Shirley Yvonne Noland passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family and loved ones on March 22, 2026. Shirley Yvonne Noland was first child of 6, born on June 8, 1937, to the late James and Wren Peyton of Richmond Kentucky. She was a faithful member of Farristown Baptist Church in Berea, Kentucky. Shirley received her education from Richmond High School and graduated as a salutatorian of the class of 1956 She was united in marriage to George W. Noland on August 24, 1958, in Richmond, Kentucky. With this union two sons were born Reginald and Kendall. As a military wife, she knew her role. Supporting her husband in his military career, managing a household and raising 2 children. Shirley had the strength of a military battalion. As her children got a little older Shirley went into the workforce and was employed at a book depository and Tony's Pizza in Salina Kansas. After her husband relocated to Ft Sill Oklahoma Shirley enrolled at Great Plains Technology Center to study in the medical field as a nurse's aide and later à med-nurse. She was employed at Cotton Nursing Home and Willow Park Health Care Center until she retired in 2002.
