On January 3, 1945 a handsome, inquisitive baby boy was born.  His proud parents, James and Helen Littlejohn named him Samuel Grant Littlejohn. He was the sixth of nine children born to this union.

Elder Samuel Grant Littlejohn Sr. was a product of the Oklahoma City Public School District.  He attended Dunbar Elementary, F.D. Moon Jr. High School and he was a proud graduate of Frederick Douglass High School, class of 1962. GO TROJANS!!! He was an avid sports enthusiast and while a student at F.D. Moon Jr. He excelled in basketball.  As a young teenager, Samuel was employed at Jewel Theater, then owned by Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Newton.  He was a jack of all trades and in his lifetime was employed as a painter, a car salesman for Finley Auto Sales, a porter at Union Bus Station and a hotel waiter.  His last employment venture was working for a catering business.

He accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor F.J. Waters.  Later he would unite with The Church of The Living God, Temple #126 under the pastorate of Chief Bishop F.C. Scott.  It was during his tenure at the Church Of The Living God that he accepted his call into the ministry.  This would begin his ministerial journey and closer walk with the Lord. When Elder Littlejohn was summoned home to be with the Lord, he was a faithful member of the “God Knows Ministries” where his pastor was Pastor Courtney Jones Sr.

Elder Littlejohn renovated and pastored the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.  God would move upon his heart to take his ministry to the airwaves so he established The Body Of Christ Radio Program with co-hosts Elder Sam Brooks and Pastor Arnitra Johnson.  The founding bible verse for his radio ministry was l Corinthians 12:3 Therefore I want you to know that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says “Jesus is cursed,” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.   Elder Samuel Grant Littlejohn Sr. LOVED the Lord and he LOVED reading God’s word.  His favorite saying was “MARANATHA, OH LORD, COME!

Samuel Grant Littlejohn united in marriage to Carolyn Griffin and during their 15 years of marriage this union celebrated the birth of four beautiful children, Mardina Michele, Sharonda DeLynne, Samuel Grant and Terrance Scott.  He was an excellent, loving father who doted over his children. He led by example, was a staunch supporter of his children and spent countless hours supporting them in their dreams, activities and endeavors. He was “grandpa” extraordinaire and relished his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Elder Littlejohn was known for his lively spirit and he would brighten up a room with his contagious smile, outgoing character and quick wit. He enjoyed playing “TONK” and he claimed the title of “Domino King” because he felt that he could not be beat. He was indeed the life of the party.

Elder Samuel Grant Littlejohn Sr. transitioned to his heavenly home on Wednesday, January 19, 2022.  He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Helen Littlejohn, three sisters, Syretha Hornbeck, Esterlina Littlejohn, Helena Garrett, three brothers, Tyrone Littlejohn, Paul Littlejohn Sr and Gregory Littlejohn.
