Phillip “Flip” Lamar Fletcher went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. He was born March 25, 1952, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Johnnie B and Marie K Fletcher. He was raised in Lawton, Oklahoma and attended Lawton High School. He taught gymnastics for a short time and earned his nickname Flip for running up the walls and turning back flips. After graduating high school Flip enjoyed rodeoing for quite some time. He then went to work for Brown and Root Construction where he helped with the construction of Goodyear and then built golf courses with them for several years across the United States and even Bahamas. Flip always said that his favorite job was building the golf course for Hugh Hefner in Chicago, Illinois. Flip then came home and followed in his father’s footsteps and started his own business called Decorator’s Upholstery. He did this for over thirty years until his health declined. You could always count on Flip to make you laugh and play plenty of pranks. Although his son’s severely disagreed, he was a loyal fan of Oklahoma University. Flip was always smiling and would give you the shirt off his back if needed.
Flip is survived by his daughter, Donna Johnson of Moore, OK. and children Anthony Nuzzi, Tyler Johnson, and Jaron Green. His son Shawn Fletcher and wife Beth Fletcher of Lawton, OK and children Johnnie Bronc and Brystol Fletcher. His son Cody Fletcher and wife Autumn Fletcher of Cement, OK and children Chance and Kimber Fletcher. Also, his adopted son Alfred Arriaga along with a host of family and friends.
Flip was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Fletcher and John Fletcher, as well as, his father Johnnie B Fletcher, and mother Marie K Fletcher.
