Karen Black

Karen Evonne Black, of Akron, Ohio moved home with our Father in heaven on March 6, 2025. Born November 1, 1945, to Gertude V. Epps (Holt) and John M. Epps.

Karen was educated through Akron East Sr. High, Mansfield Sr. High and graduated from Mansfield Business College. Karen was a faithful wife, dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Karen joined into a holy union with the late Evangelist James C. Black May 6, 1967, and took pride in being a committed wife of 50 years, 11 months and 241 days. She was honored to work alongside her husband in the ministry for over 50 plus years. Karen was a treasured mother of four children, 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, who will forever miss her presence. She especially loved her children and taught them by precept and example of how to live a holy and acceptable life according to God’s word. This is the legacy we have from you because you taught us love and how to fight. You gave us strength, you gave us might. A stronger person would be hard to find and a heart that was always kind.
