Cornelius “Cub” Beasley,99 passed away Friday May 22, 2020. Mr. Beasley was born in the Guthrie African American community known as the “Elbow” August 8, 1920. His parents were James Washington Beasley and Eliza Herron Beasley. He was the youngest and last survivor of six children. Mr. Beasley was a proud graduate of Faver High School. He was a faithful member of the Faver Alumni Association where he served as Chaplain Emeritus. He was a recipient of the Legacy award. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church serving as Trustee, Baptist Training Union Director, Sunday School Superintendent, and choir member. He was honorably discharged from the Army during World War II in 1945. Mr. Beasley retired from Tinker Air Force Base after being employed over twenty years. After retiring, he started working full time with his TV/Electronics repair business for thirty-five years. Mr. Beasley is preceded in death by his beloved wife Vercie Adell Beasley and son Alonzo Beasley. He leaves to cherish his memory daughter Carzetta Threatts (Guthrie, OK) and son Lawrence Beasley (Garland, TX). Also forever cherishing his memory are nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, grand nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins. Services will be held May 30, 2020. Viewing at First Baptist Church, 401 South Broad, Guthrie, OK from 10:00am-12:00pm. Grave side service Memory Gardens Memorial Park, 1624 N. Pine, Guthrie, OK at 1:00pm. Graveside Services will be Saturday May 30, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Guthrie Oklahoma. Viewing will be held at 1st Baptist 401 S Broad St, Guthrie, OK 73044 Saturday May 30, 2020 at 10-12
